Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, renowned for his constant pursuit of innovation, has now ventured into the realm of Artificial Intelligence. At 69, the legendary star has enrolled in a prestigious AI course at a top US institution, underscoring his commitment to staying ahead of technological advancements in filmmaking.
According to a Deccan Herald report, Haasan recently flew to the US to begin a 90-day course in AI, though he plans to attend only the first 45 days due to prior commitments in India. It is reported that the actor aims to incorporate AI into his future cinematic projects.
“I have a deep interest in new technology, and you can often see my films experimenting with the latest technological developments,” Haasan shared in a previous interview. “Cinema is my life. All my earnings have gone back into my films. I’m not merely an actor but a producer too, and I reinvest everything I earn into the industry.”
Kamal Haasan’s passion for technological integration in cinema was evident in his recent roles. In Indian 2, he portrayed a character over 100 years old, utilizing advanced prosthetics, while his role as Yaskin in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD was brought to life through cutting-edge VFX. The iconic actor is set to reprise his roles in sequels and upcoming films, including Indian 3 and Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, all scheduled for release next year.
